Ideas for the Weekend

Ahhhh, the weekend. Everyone loves the weekend. I do especially because it gives you a chance to relax and hang with your friends. Now a lot of people our age go and work all weekend to make money which is not a bad thing either. Now we all know being in college the major thing to do is go out and party with our friends, not all college students but most. There are a lot of other things you can do on the weekends instead of just partying. Depending on the time of year you can go snowmobiling if you own one or have access to one, you can snowboard, ski or just have a good old snow fight with your friends and family.

Other fun activities would go to a pool at a hotel or if you have money go down to the dells and spend the weekend. Now you don't have to always spend money, you can stay in and watch movies, ply PS3, Xbox 360, or even good old fashioned board games. Whatever it is you choose to do enjoy the relaxing break from school for a couple days because once the weekend is over it's back to the work and stress of school. Sorry to ruin the fun with that bad word, school but it's the truth. I guess all I'm trying to say is make the most out your weekend.

College Stress

Tyler Duerwachter

College stress can very over-whelming. I know because I am taking 15 credits and yes that's normal for a college student, but it can very stressful. Doing homework every night is not a surprising thing we had to do in high school as well. The one thing bout college is most of us are trying to do very well in school and having to work a job. Sometimes the job is full time, which in turn leaves the student with no free time. A students needs to have a little free time to him or hers self because it lets them relax and actually do better in their job and school. I think teachers need to realize that a lot of their students are going full time at school and also working full time at work because they need to be able to live and pay for school. A solution could be that they make school tuition cheaper for people in college. I myself don't have a full time job but i am working part time and I'm still stressing over class and work. They conflict and if somebody tells you that they don't they're lien their butts off. They say u should 3-6 hours of study time each day. Now if you go to school all day then work till 8 or 9 ant night, so where do you get that sufficient amount of time while doing both. I hope what you've heard doesn't make you mad but just take a second to think.

Valetines Day

As you all know Valentines Day is coming right up this weekend. And everyone runs into a problem on what to get his or her significant other. As a matter of fact I was out shopping for my significant other yesterday and I had a heck of a time trying to figure out what to get my Valentine. The stores right now have so much crap that it's so hard to choose from. But I went to a quite a few stores to find something and I noticed that Wal-Mart had the most wide selection of stuff for a really good price. So I went ahead and bought my Valentine a whole bunch of sweet things. And I even stepped up to the plate and bought my mom some cool things just because they had such awesome prices.

So if you're usually like me, one of those late minute shoppers you will want to go to Wal-Mart. Now personally I think they over emphasize Valentines Day. There are a few reasons. They say chocolate is one of the best things to get your Valentine if you don't know what all to get him or her. Now I think that's stupid because for 1 it's a candy and that gets old after awhile, and 2 you eat it up right away so it's like giving them something that will go away after like 15 min. So I hope you didn't mind me rambling on about this but I needed something to talk about , but i also figured it was appropriate.

The Best Thing To Happen

4, Feb. 2009

This week I am going to be talking the recent article on msnbc.com about the new Smoking Ban in bars and restaurants. I am all for the ban of smoking in these public areas. I myself have asthma and when I’m in a place that allows smoking it gets to be real hard to enjoy myself. And I know that there are a lot of people who go to these places to enjoy themselves and not want to have to sit in a cloud of smoke the whole time they are present in the place they are in. As I was reading in the article there are a lot of arguments coming from the owners of these different places, especially the bars say that they can’t afford having the smoking ban because it takes away their clientele.

I don’t agree with these people because just because at the moment that is all you ever have for a clientele doesn’t mean that once this ban is established you won’t later have these people come in who never thought to have ever step foot inside the place because they would have to breathe in such terrible air. Another reason why I totally agree on not allowing smoking inside theses public building is when you’re in the place that allows smoking you have to come out the place smelling like a chimney. I live in my home with a smoker and I tell them that they can smoke, but they must go outside. I would never be able to live in my house if I gave them that privilege to smoke in the house.
I also think smoking is a terrible habit that needs to be put away your own health is at risk and your greatly putting other people’s health at risk. I hope what you have read about my blog entry this week you understand what I am trying to say and you totally see my point of view.
